The San Carlos Apache Tribe Adult Education Program focuses to primarily fulfill education instructional and support services for tribal members, who provide proof of enrollment to any nationally recognized tribe, toward earning a GED® Certificate. Education Department offers both in-person, and online classes through AZTEC Software to prepare students for the GED® exam. The amount of difficultly experienced with online classes can depend on your academic readiness so it’s difficult to determine how long it will take to receive GED®. Students who have self-discipline and self-motivation have a greater probability of accomplishing their goals.

The GED® test covers five subjects: Civics, Social Studies, Science, Reasoning Through Language Arts, and Mathematical Reasoning. Each subject test is taken at an official testing site through Pearson VUE. Once a student successfully passes a subject Practice Test, then the education department will schedule and pay for exam. You may take the entire exam at once, or schedule individual components on different dates.

Admission Requirements:

Must be 18 years of age or older.:
Must provide a copy of Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, valid photo ID card: (Tribal or State-issued), and proof of tribal enrollment.
Must complete the Aztec Locator pre-test to provide a personalized learning plan.
Services:

Computers are available at the College and Career Center on Mondays - Fridays in the morning from 8am -12pm and in the afternoon from 1pm - 4:30pm.
Transportation services to the testing center may be available, schedule permitting, upon request.

Arizona has a second option for students who never earned their high school diploma. It’s called the College Credit Pathway. It is open to Arizona residents 16 or older seeking their GED. It requires completion of 25 100-level college credits (with grades of C or better) and passing the Arizona Civics Test.
